Artist - David Shearing

Cloggy Site Visit-18

Are you interested in the intersection between rock climbing and dance?

We are looking for experienced climbers to take part in a 4-hour workshop with dancers as part of ‘BLACK ROCK’ – a new immersive performance by artist David Shearing. Working closely with dancers and choreographer Carlos Pons Guerra, we want to explore the physical movement language of climbing by translating the vertical climb to people on the ground.

We are looking for climbers to take part in a 4-hour session on
Saturday 2nd September 2017, 13:00-17:00, University of Leeds.

Each climber will be asked to talk briefly about their experience of climbing. Climbers will be asked to led a short 20-30-minute exercise with our dancers. This might be a warm up, stretches, preparation activity or an introduction to personal equipment or a mix. Ideally we want to explore movement and physically. We will be working in a black box studio space.

We can pay a fee of £100 for the session
(fee subject to tax from the University of Leeds).
